Quest, County of Broome

If you're near Binghamton, New York, you HAVE to do the Broomequest series! I busted my letterboxing posterior this weekend and still don't have all twenty-five of them. Wonderful images and a grand tour of the area! Most of them are really nice hikes so make sure you have time to devote to the effort. It's not a mystery series, so, here 'tis...

And when it's time to refuel, head for Nevoles Family Pizza in Johnson City. You can sit down and eat or take out if you are sweaty and stinky with dirt under your fingernails. Living here in Gotham it is hard to impress me with a pizza but this was really good. And when I travel I am never far away from a cupcake. I hike. I eat. Baked Euphoria's coconut was to die for. And three different people came in there to pick up their cakes so everything else must be really good!

Wow - that's good to know - I just placed a watch on that series. It's listed as 1-2 miles - is that the case? Its a ways away for us, but someday - hopefully someday soon! Thanks MM!!

Hummm.....good question. I'm lousy at distances. The ones that are hikes are not short hikes by any means. At least not to me. Not hard, just longish. But all very nice hikes. A few of them are longish walks. The one at the carousel is a really quick one. I would say that was the quickest. You really have to get them in a good order for driving to each place though. I don't think any of the hikes were longer than 2 miles so I guess 1-2 is a good estimate.

Hmmm... an endorsement like this makes us want to head out there! Our first criteria for choosing letterboxes to look for is a good hike. Pizza would be a bonus!

FYI another box has been added. No hike, but you learn a lot of history. Takes a while to do, but fun and enjoyable.
